Voluntary Action Lochaber is a voluntary and community sector Infrastructure support body and a partner within the Highland Third Sector Interface serving the Lochaber area.
Lochaber covers an area of some 2000 square miles which, includes the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum, Muck and Canna, and the peninsula of Knoydart. The main town is Fort William, comprising approximately half of the 19,193 total population of Lochaber.
VAL has its main presence in Fort William, within the voluntary sector ‘hub’ – An Drochaid – owned, maintained and managed by VAL, with office space let to other voluntary sector agencies and providing a venue for meetings and conferences.
VAL employs 15 members of staff delivering a diverse range of services which include housing support services, and outreach work through our Social Enterprise and Development Workers .
