At The Invergordon Museum, we are fortunate to have three great individuals who generously dedicate their time and passion to preserving our local history.
This is Sheena Marklam, Alison Fraser & Mike Sheraton who all give their time generously at The Invergordon Museum.
When asked why they started to volunteer here, Alison cheerfully joked, 'Sheena made me come!!'.
Sheena has been at the Museum since 2010. Both ladies really enjoy being here. It gives them a chance to share the history and knowledge they have of the local area and museum.
Both ladies met many years ago when they worked in the Invergordon Distillery together. Both are cheerful and friendly, they enjoy meeting and talking to the people that visit daily through out summer, which are all different nationalities. It is an opportunity to swap stories, as both have also travelled to many other countries too, so it is also a cultural exchange and you are always learning. Both say it is great way to spend their time and have a good laugh.
Volunteering isn’t just about preserving artifacts; it’s about building connections. Sheena, Alison, and Mike exemplify this. Their knowledge, humour and enthusiasm create an inviting atmosphere for everyone who steps inside. Whether it’s swapping stories with a curious visitor or reminiscing about their own adventures, these volunteers infuse passion and warmth into making the Museum a vibrant hub of activity.
