Services

Direct 1:1 Capacity Building Support

Highland TSI provides tailored, one-to-one support to help community groups and third sector organisations start, develop, and sustain their work.

Starting Up

Support for new and emerging groups, including:

​

  • Advice on appropriate legal structures (e.g. SCIO, CIC)

  • Constitution templates and review

  • Support with registration and other start up processes

  • Initial board roles and responsibilities guidance

Project Development

Support to shape and strengthen project ideas:

​

  • Concept development and planning

  • Community Engagement

  • Risk identification and management

  • “Critical friend” support on funding applications

Governance and Board Support

Helping organisations build strong and effective governance:

​

  • Governing document development and review

  • Good governance health checks

  • Trustee skills audits

  • Board administration guidance

  • Policies and Procedures

Eligibility

Community groups and third sector organisations based in the Inner Moray Firth and Wester Ross.

  • Delivery Method: 1:1 support delivered online or in person.

  • Timescale: Varies depending on the complexity of the request and the capacity of the organisation.

  • Cost: Free of charge.

Winding Up

Support for organisations that are closing or transitioning:

  • Winding-up planning

  • Closure processes and compliance

  • General guidance and signposting

Facilitation

Independent facilitation for:

​

  • Boards and committees

  • Membership groups

  • Community engagement processes

Other Support

​

  • Changing legal structure

  • Regulatory and reporting requirement guidance

  • Decision-making

Start Up

What we DO NOT provide

Direct 1:1 Capacity Building Support

To ensure clarity and manage expectations, Highland TSI does not provide:

​

  • Legal advice beyond general guidance

  • Completion of full funding applications on behalf of organisations

  • Delivery of core services for third sector organisations

  • Specialist services where dedicated support bodies exist (e.g. social enterprise support, business planning, Development Trusts Association Scotland)
