The post holder will be responsible for the overarching HTSI Organisation, its strategy, team and delivery across various streams of activity, including the agreed budget. Working with the Board, the Chief Officer will set the strategic direction of the organisation and report to the Board on its progress through an implementation plan and performance management framework, with a specific focus on the delivery of TSI services as outlined through the funding agreement with the Scottish Government Third Sector Unit.

A key aspect of the role is having a good understanding of the evolving third sector landscape and strategic influences nationally and locally in order to adapt activity appropriately.

The post holder will act as an ambassador and advocate for the organisation, representing both HTSI and wider Third Sector interests at regional and national meetings. This requires partnership and relationship management at a high level and the fostering of new opportunities which bring benefit for the Third Sector in Highland.

Cafe 1668 Cook

£13.95 ph

The post holder will be an excellent cook, good home cooking skills and the ability to bake. They will however, be someone who has experience of working in a commercial setting, or, they can learn fast as they will need to complete training around food hygiene and ensure the kitchen, stock and produce management is to a high standard.


More than this, they need to believe in the core principles of the café’s work and be able to work with volunteers, service users and be willing to chip in to support the overall café team.


The post holder will be specifically responsible for cooking, food preparation and menu planning on their working days. They will also be responsible for supporting the wider team to ensure the kitchen meets all appropriate hygiene and environmental health requirements. Due to the unique aspects of what we do, they will also have to support the donations of food stuffs from supermarkets, training volunteers and people in placements in basic food prep and kitchen etiquette; and occasionally supporting ‘front of house’ activities.

Independent Examiner

Highland Third Sector Interface (HTSI) is inviting expressions of interest from self-employed professionals to join a new Independent Examiner service supporting small charities and community organisations across Highland. This flexible opportunity is ideal for people who enjoy working with accounts and numbers and want to use their skills to support third sector organisations delivering real impact in their communities. Examiners will be part of a small, supported bank, with work offered on a case-by-case basis as the service grows. Training, guidance, and access to HTSI systems will be provided.  Prior experience as an Independent Examiner is welcome but not essential. This is a chance to work flexibly and contribute to strengthening governance and sustainability across the third sector.
