Mentor - Young People

An exciting opportunity has arisen to volunteer at Action for Children, Inverness. We run a needs led volunteer mentoring service for young people aged 8-14 who are subject to home supervision. We know that these young people are often vulnerable, socially isolated or at risk of offending. The main aims for the service are: · Improve attainment levels for young people · Enhance positive relationships within the family and wider community · Support children to have increased levels of self-esteem and resilience · Support Children to explore and engage in personal hobbies/interests If you are you looking for a rewarding and challenging volunteering opportunity and can spare a few hours a week this may be for you. All we ask is that you: · Are you able to be an active member of a child’s life · Are you a good listener · Will you act in the best interests of the child · Can you commit to 12 Months? Our Children and Young people need stability.
