Groam House Museum

18+
31/10/2026
Rosemarkie / Black Isle
Flexible – approximately a few hours per month, with additional time around budgeting and annual accounts.
Role Description
Groam House Museum is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to help us manage our finances effectively and plan confidently for the future. We are a small, ambitious independent museum in Rosemarkie, caring for nationally significant Pictish and Celtic collections alongside the work of artist George Bain.
Working with our Finance Group, Museum Manager and trustees, you will support financial reporting, budgeting and planning, grant and project finance, and preparation of our annual accounts. We are particularly interested in someone with financial skills who can help us consider the longer-term financial implications of the Museum’s future development. Experience may come from accountancy, bookkeeping, financial or business management, charities or a related field; formal accountancy qualifications are welcome but not essential.
The role is voluntary, flexible and can largely be undertaken remotely. There is also the option to join our Board of Trustees, although this is not essential. Our current Treasurer will remain on the Board and provide continuity, handover and support.
Training Provided:
A full handover and ongoing support will be provided by our current Treasurer, who will remain on the Board of Trustees. The Museum Manager, Finance Group and wider team will also provide support and organisational knowledge.
