Holiday activities volunteer

Inverness/Highland

One + half day/day during Easter/summer holidays

Role Description

Reach4Reality works with autistic young people and young adults involving them in a range of outdoor activities tailored to their individual needs. Activities might be short 1:1 sessions with our staff, half day/day activities during the holidays, building up to overnight stays, weekend camps and 5 day camps. The role of a holiday activities volunteer is to come and support young people and young adults with autism or another social communication difficulty on our half day activities during the Easter holidays or our full day activities during the summer holidays. These take place at various locations within the Highlands. Volunteers do the outdoor activities (e.g. canoeing, kayaking, biking, walking) alongside the young people and our staff, supporting them as required, but primarily just befriending them and helping to make sure that they have a fun and rewarding experience. No specific experience of outdoor activities required, just a reasonable level of fitness and a willing to give activities a try!
