Flexible Working

Flexible working arrangements include job sharing, part-time working; career breaks or working from home. Any employee who has worked with you as their employer for at least the last 26 weeks can apply for flexible working hours.

Employers can reasonably decline an application for flexible working where there is a legitimate business ground, but the law requires that an employer follows a particular process to consider flexible working requests.

This means that your committee or Board has a legal requirement to consider the request and to weigh up the impact of the request on the rest of the team and on service delivery.
