About the role

Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust (KoSDT) are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Community Support Officer to help deliver projects that strengthen communities, improve wellbeing, increase opportunities and reduce poverty in Sutherland. Working with residents, community groups, partner organisations and public agencies, you will support and deliver local initiatives, and assist with the development and delivery of Community Planning in Sutherland.

 

This post will work with KoSDT and the Sutherland Community Planning Partnership (SCP) to support their mutual aims and priorities with a particular focus around addressing inequalities in Sutherland. The post will support those in hardship, increase community resilience, enable and support community empowerment and participation, and improve local decision making.

 

The post holder will deliver KoSDT strategic priorities as well as support local groups and partners to deliver plans and projects tackling current challenges being faced and help to reduce inequalities as identified by the communities themselves.

 

The following skills are essential:

- The ability to quickly connect and establish a good relationship with community groups and stakeholder organisations.

- Having a strong understanding of community led development and being able to engage with all sections of the community.

- Being an enthusiastic team player with the ability to work well with others and on own initiative.

 

This post is fully funded by the Highland Council through Community Resilience Fund (CRF)
