Meet the Team

What's your name?

Eilidh MacInnes

What's your role at HTSI Volunteer Academy?

I am a Volunteer Academy Development Officer for Sutherland and Caithness.

Have you volunteered in the past?

Yes, I have volunteered at local community events running craft workshops and have been part of various school parent councils over the years. My working life has always been community-centric, and alongside my Volunteer Academy role, I also work for a charity called the Dornoch Firth Group as a Family Learning Co-Ordinator.

What do you like doing for fun?

I enjoy being outdoors and wild swim with a group of friends and paddle board with my children. I also love creating crafts from wool including wet and needle felting. I recently attended a course to learn how to spin and weave a rug from raw fleece from my sheep which was amazing fun!

Do you have any pets?

I have two working border collies called Gem and Tess. They are part time working dogs and probably spend more time on the sofa than they do around sheep, but I feel it's the best of both worlds for them. I keep a few Shetland sheep for their wool and have chickens too.

If you could have one superpower for the day, what would it be?

It might not be the most popular super power but I'd love the ability to deliver the perfect witty comeback in the moment instead of hours later!
