Meet the Team

ree

What's your name?

Iona MacPhee

What's your role at HTSI Volunteer Academy?

I am a Development Officer for the Volunteer Academy covering the South of the Highlands.

Have you volunteered in the past?

Yes, I currently volunteer every Friday with Victim Support Scotland as a Support Volunteer. This involves helping victims navigate the criminal justice system and providing practical and emotional support during really challenging times. I find it incredibly rewarding to make even a small difference for people.

What do you like doing for fun?

I love discovering new food supports, playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends and going for walks. I'm also a huge fan of jigsaws, they are my ultimate relaxation activity and nothing says "cool" like spending hours matching tiny pieces of cardboard.

Do you have any pets?

Not at the moment, but I'd love to! I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats and I enjoy visiting my sister to look after her Sheltie, aptly named 'Diva'.

If you could have one super power for the day, what would it be?

Definitely teleportation - so I can visit all my favourite food spots in one day and craft the perfect meal.
