Role Description

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Lochinver is looking for volunteers to join the existing team in the role of All Weather Lifeboat Crew. Set amongst spectacular scenery, Lochinver Lifeboat Station has operated an all-weather lifeboat for nearly 40 years. The ‘Penza’ boathouse is one of eight boathouses funded from a legacy from Mrs Eugenie Boucher. We are ideally looking for new crew that, in time, will become our future navigators, mechanics and coxswains after training we will provide. Maritime experience would be ideal but not essential Live or work within Lochinver and the immediate area, and within 15 minutes of the station. The impact you will make This role will help us save lives at sea by ensuring that our lifeboats are in a state of permanent readiness and crewing the lifeboat on service and exercise, under the command of the coxswain. What you will be doing - Undertake training and maintain Competency Based Training as necessary to fulfil the role of crew member - Be on call for lifeboat ‘shouts’ - Attend exercises - Contribute to the overall upkeep of the station, lifeboats and equipment.
